Our work includes a number of distinct, yet complementary areas of focus. In our observational research portfolio, we’ve been quite interested in understanding how social and psychosocial factors influence obesity risk, physical activity patterns and weight change. We have a number of ongoing intervention studies, mostly conducted in primary care, designed to assist individual to manage their weight by modifying obesogenic lifestyle behaviors. Our interventions utilize advanced health information technologies — we’re actively developing interventions that use the web, IVR, and text messaging to enhance efficacy and extend reach.
